Our No. 4 textile lamp - a recreation of the Brasica lamp from Santa & Cole and their name and logo are just awesome!
This is one for the wish list!
The detailed hand-stitching to the top and bottom of the lamp shade and the tiny thin base are some of the coolest features of this lamp.
Santa & Cole is a small, independent and global editor of well-designed products. With its roots in Belloch (Barcelona, Spain) it works in over 70 countries, driven by the quest for good civil coexistence and determined to foster that.
Their philosophy on their wide range of products ~
Not accumulating but rather selecting; not delighting in quantity but rather in quality; not to show but rather to share.
At Santa & Cole we endeavor to select only what is interesting, either because the product has a story to tell, for the history behind it, its elegance of form or its smart technical solution. It isn't about appearances or trends: we edit only things that move us again and again. Our taste philosophy is more on the modern than the futuristic side. We are interested in reason, balance, and silence before stridency.
The publication of the Básica lamp in 1987 was a return to warmth from the then prevailing fashion of lamps with tubular metal structures (usually painted black) and dichroic halogen bulbs. This piece laid the foundations for the publisher’s premises, became Santa & Cole's most emblematic piece and set a new trend in European design.
